Lagoa

Porches parish is within LAGOA’S municipality in Algarve’s region.

Lagoa is located in a traditionally agricultural and important wine-producing area.

In addition, to being surrounded by vineyards, Lagoa has a rural feel, keeping its original character.

In contrast, and just a few miles away, the atmosphere of its famous seaside resorts is cosmopolitan.

As a matter of fact, Lagoa’s outstanding coastline is superb. 

For example, Chapel of Senhora da Rocha’s panoramic views are unbeatable!

And, Praia do Carvoeiro?

Beautiful!

In fact, the beach won the award of being the most beautiful beach in Europe!

Equally beautiful, are the fishing town of Ferragudo and the Alfanzina lighthouse. 

In addition, Praia da Marinha or Praia da Albandeira cliffs are singular and deserve a visit!

Furthermore, the 15th most beautiful cave in the world is in one of Lagoa’s beaches, Benagil!

Therefore, many consider this little corner of paradise the  MOST BEAUTIFUL municipality in Algarve!!!

The river Arade marks the border with neighbouring Portimão to the west.

On the other hand, Silves is to the east.

During that time, Algarve’s capital was Silves.

Secondly, they serve delicious local gastronomy and great wines.
